I had great plans to draft my next book during National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo or NaNo for short).
But then, you see, there was this hurricane. And a cross country move. And then I didn’t have Internet for days. And then…
There’s always a reason to not write, isn’t there? I have kids. I have a house to run. I’m too tired. Blah, blah, blah.
How about: I’m lazy and I’m procrastinating. Not as valid-sounding, right?
I used to write 1,000 words a day – every day, seven days a week – minimum. I didn’t allow excuses to enter my mind.
So this is me re-committing to finishing my draft by December 1st. I’ve already dug my crockpot out of the packing materials and have staked out a comfy place on the couch since my desk has been hijacked by Bug.
Only 47,000 words to go…
